Often times we never even notice what it is about a neighborhood that attracts us. Sometimes it’s not just the home itself but more subtle things like your cool neighbors on the block, the views, or the yoga studio down the street. And often time we only recognize these things AFTER we move in. My favorite neighborhood, where I was the happiest and most successful in my home, was near a lake. I would drive by it every day or walk around it and simply take in the beautiful reflective water against the mountains. When I moved away, I started to miss that cute little lake. When buying or selling a home, consider being proactive about what factors will attract you to your next neighborhood. When we are happy and secure in our surroundings, we can better feel at ease with our home life. When we are happy at home we can find more success in our career, family and relationships. As Real estate brokers are not allowed to “Steer” you, it is important for you to be proactive and seek out the neighborhoods that meet your needs. Be prepared ahead of time to do your research and let your broker know what area will work for you so they can find the best home for you.
